Al-Alamein Seawater R.O. / Desalination Plant, Egypt
Scope: Surveillance solution with > 200 cameras, supporting NVRs & VMS
Location: Al-Alamein / North Coast, Egypt
Project Background:
In response to rising water demand, the Al-Alamein site includes a large reverse osmosis desalination facility for coastal communities. This critical infrastructure requires round-the-clock monitoring of process zones, pipelines, control buildings, and perimeters.
Challenge:
The facility’s layout covers both marine and onshore units. Surveillance must capture under varied lighting conditions (marine glare, dust, spray) and provide high-availability performance with minimal failure risk.
Solution by Comatrol:
-
Deployment of more than 200 HD cameras (fixed, PTZ, wide-angle) for indoor and outdoor coverage
-
Redundant NVRs with backup storage and failover
-
Central VMS dashboard with alerting and video correlation
-
Zonal analytics (motion detection, intrusion alarms)
-
System configured to support remote monitoring from control center
Outcome & Benefits:
-
Added security layer for critical RO equipment and perimeter
-
Enhanced operational oversight — monitoring treatment tanks, pumps, pipelines
-
Alarmed analytics reduce false alerts, focusing operator attention
-
Reliable video records for compliance, audits, and incident reviews
